Everything running across paid social, organic social and both Google Business Profiles, plus a full look at the residential cleaning opportunity. All last-30-day figures cover July 10 – August 8, 2026.
One campaign is live, General Promo · Whistler +17km, running at $10 a day across the feed, stories and reels on both platforms. Spend held almost exactly flat against last period, and everything underneath it improved: 31% more clicks for the same money, at a cost per click 23% lower. The job ads and deep clean campaigns are both still paused.

Same budget, more of everything. Two things drive cost per click: what the auction charges, and how well the creative converts that exposure. Both moved the right way. The cost of reaching a thousand people fell 8.5% and the click-through rate rose from 0.78% to 0.93%, which together produce the 23% drop in cost per click.
The traffic is going the right place too. 324 of the 381 clicks were link clicks through to the website, so 85% of the spend reached the site rather than being an incidental tap on the post.
Worth noting when reading these: the campaign optimises for engagement rather than conversions, and frequency sits at 3.7, so the same audience is seeing the same two images about four times a month. Normal for Whistler, but a second set of creative would keep it fresh into autumn.

Posting has been consistent at 10 posts across the window, one every three days, mirrored across both platforms. Instagram carries the audience and reached 7,365 accounts over the period, with a further 3,708 views on the posts themselves. Both figures cover paid and organic together, since the ad creative and the page content share the same profiles.
A strong month. Profile views are up 15% on last period and interactions up 56%, with calls tripling and direction requests doubling. Against the same window last year the profile is up 295% on views, which is the clearest single measure of the work done on it over the past twelve months.

10 reviews at 4.6 stars. Nine of those are five stars, so the underlying sentiment is excellent. Because the total count is still small, each new review moves the displayed rating a long way: around ten more five-star reviews would take the profile to 4.8 and put it level with the strongest cleaning profiles in the village. Review volume is the single easiest lever on this profile.
This profile is quietly the best-performing thing in the account. Two months after it was created it is already ranking first in Google Maps for “vacation rental cleaning whistler”, ahead of every established competitor in the village, and it did that before a single review has been collected. It pulled 83 views and 40 direction requests this period, and it is growing month on month.

Google leans heavily on the words in a business name when it decides which profiles to show for a local search. This profile is named for exactly what people are typing, so it wins those searches on name match alone, before reviews or content come into it.
That is the proof behind the residential recommendation in the next section, and it is a live example from Summit's own account rather than a theory.
Start collecting reviews on it. This profile is already outranking businesses holding 85 and 92 reviews, so it is winning the visibility battle on name alone. Reviews are the piece that turns that visibility into enquiries, because they are what someone compares when two profiles sit side by side in the map. Even ten to fifteen would make it the obvious choice at a glance, and everything else about the profile is already pulling its weight.

Kelvin raised opening up residential cleaning. Before committing to it, this is a full picture of where Summit sits for those searches today, who currently owns them, and what would need to change. A homeowner looking for a cleaner finds one in three places, and Summit's position is different in each. Everything below was run with the search location set to Whistler on August 10, 2026, and covers residential and house cleaning searches only.
The blue links. Won by pages, so this is the website's job. Summit does not appear on the first page for either residential search.
The map block that fills a phone screen. Summit's newest profile already sits 5th, the main profile sits 25th.
ChatGPT and Google's AI Overview. Neither named Summit for any residential question we asked.
Residential is a new direction rather than an underperforming one. Summit has never set out to be found for home cleaning, so the fact that it is not showing up for those searches is the expected starting point, not a problem to fix.
What the research below does is show exactly what the businesses winning those searches have in common, and how short the gap actually is. Google matches a search to a business name and to a page. Every company ahead of Summit has both. Summit currently has neither, which is the entire reason for the positions on this page and the entire thing that would need to change.
The standard blue links. These are won by pages rather than profiles, so this is where the website does the work.

Summit does not appear on the first page for either search. Every site that does has a page written specifically for home cleaning, and in most cases that exact page is what Google is ranking rather than the homepage.
This is the most straightforward of the three channels to move, because it is decided almost entirely by whether a relevant page exists. It is not decided by how old a domain is or how many links it has, and there is nothing structurally wrong with summithospitality.ca that would hold a new page back.
This is the one that matters most for a local service. It is what fills a phone screen, and it is where the call and directions buttons live.

A growing share of these searches now get typed into an AI assistant rather than a search box. The assistant reads the live web and comes back naming a handful of businesses, so being in that shortlist is turning into its own channel. We ran the two main residential cleaning searches, from Whistler.
| Search | Businesses the answer named | Summit |
|---|---|---|
| “residential house cleaning Whistler” | Mount Currie, Perfection Whistler, Crystal Cleaning, Magic Clean, Sparkly Cleaning | Not named |
| “house cleaning Whistler” | Mount Currie, Perfection Whistler, Crystal Cleaning, Magic Clean, Mirai Cleaning | Not named |
Summit is not named in either. The businesses that are named barely change between the two searches, and they are the same names sitting at the top of the map and the search results above. This is not a separate problem, it is the same gap showing up in a third place.
| Site | Indexed pages | Residential page | Words | Structured data |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Whistler Revolution Cleaning | 8 pages | Yes · /residential-cleaning-in-whistler/ | 833 | No |
| Sparkly Cleaning Whistler | 10 pages | Yes · /services/residential-home-cleaning-services/ | 340 | No |
| Wonderful BC Clean Services | 12 pages | Yes · /home/residential-cleaning-whistler/ | — | No |
| Crystal Cleaning Whistler | 4 pages | Part of one combined services page | — | No |
| Summit Hospitality | 1 page | None | — | Yes · full service & FAQ markup |
The current site is a single page. That was the right build for what it was asked to do, and technically it is in good shape: it carries full service, offer and FAQ structured data, and it explicitly allows every AI crawler in its robots file, including GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot. Nothing there is broken.
What it does not have is a page about cleaning a home, and one page can only answer one question. If Summit takes on residential work, the site needs to become a multi-page site, with the homepage acting as a hub and each service sitting on its own page underneath it. That is the structure every business ranking above Summit uses, and it is what all three channels reward at once: the map ties a profile to a matching page, ordinary search ranks the page itself, and the AI tools read it to decide who to recommend.
The standard to beat is not high. The two pages currently at the top of the residential results are 340 and 833 words with no structured data behind them. Summit already publishes richer, better-marked-up pages than that, so this is ground we can take rather than a gap that needs years to close.
Kelvin also raised running Google Ads for residential. It is the right instinct, and the one thing worth being deliberate about is the order it happens in.
Google scores every ad partly on how well the page behind it matches what was searched. Point a house-cleaning ad at a homepage about vacation rental turnovers and the score drops, which means paying more per click for a worse position. The same page that fixes the organic problem is the page the ads need, so building it first makes the ads cheaper rather than delaying them. The profile matters too, since a verified profile lets the ads carry location and call extensions.
Those click costs are what we are currently paying on comparable Whistler home-services accounts over this same window, so they are a realistic guide rather than an estimate. At $15 a day the budget buys roughly one to three clicks a day. That is deliberately small: enough to learn which terms actually convert into enquiries without spending heavily on guesses, and easy to scale once the winners are obvious.
These keywords come from the searches we can see people actually running in Whistler. Exact monthly volumes and the true cost per click for each one are only visible from inside a live Google Ads account, so the first month would be as much about learning which of them convert as about generating work. We would start on the core service terms, add the one-off job terms alongside them, and let the first few weeks of data decide where the budget concentrates.
A dedicated page at summithospitality.ca/residential-cleaning-whistler written for home cleaning, with its own title, heading, service list, pricing guidance, questions and answers, and the same structured data the homepage already carries. The homepage then becomes a hub pointing to it, with deep clean and move-in or move-out following as they are needed. This one page is what unlocks all three channels: it gives ordinary search something to rank, it gives the map profile something to tie to, and it gives the AI tools something to read.
Something like Summit Residential Cleaning Whistler or Summit Cleaning Services Whistler, with its own phone number and its own address pin. Every business at the top of the map is named as a cleaning company, and the name is doing a lot of that work: Sparkly holds first place on 14 reviews, ahead of competitors with 92 and 85. Summit Hospitality Services does not read as a house cleaner to Google or to a homeowner scanning the map.
The two reinforce each other. Google cross-checks that a business claiming to do residential cleaning has a page saying so, and a profile backed by a matching service page holds its position far better than one without. ChatGPT does the same thing in sequence, shortlisting from the map and then reading the site. Doing either alone gets part of the result, doing both together is what moves it.
Reviews are not what is blocking the ranking, but they are what decides the click once Summit is visible. The main profile sits at 4.6 from 10 reviews with nine of them at five stars, so roughly ten more would take it to 4.8 and put it level with the rest of the map. Worth starting that habit now so the ratings are in place by the time the new page and profile are ranking.
A new Google profile normally starts showing in local results within two to four weeks of verification, and a new service page typically takes four to eight weeks to settle into rankings. Summit's newer profile is a useful benchmark here: created in June, it is already 5th for “residential cleaning whistler” with no reviews behind it. On that evidence, a correctly named residential profile backed by a real page should be competing for the top of the map before the end of the season, not next year.
Section 5 covers where Summit sits across search, the map and AI answers, what it would take to compete in each, and how Google Ads would fit once the groundwork is in place. The decisions for this call are whether we go ahead, what the new profile should be called, and which phone number it uses.
There have been further changes made to the system since we last spoke, so worth walking through them together and getting your read. The dashboard now shows unit size, departure clean price and linen pool buy-in at a glance on each client card, and the agreement email has been softened so it no longer assumes the customer will sign and no longer carries a start date.
Parked for now. Happy to leave it there, but let me know if you want to pick it back up and I will pull the latest version together for you to look at.
housing@summithospitality.ca is live with a signature set up and the credentials are in the access document. If the housing programme needs to keep filling rooms, the listing artwork Kirsty shared in Slack could run as a small local ad in the same way the job ads did.
Both profiles would benefit from a steady trickle of reviews, and it is the cheapest lever available. Worth agreeing a simple habit for asking, whether that is a line in the post-clean email or a card left in the unit, so it happens without anyone having to remember.
Still nothing running on search. Section 5e sets out how it would work for residential, what it would cost to start and which keywords we would open with, once the page and the profile are in place.
